Semiotics Reflection

As designers, it’s sometimes difficult not to look at the world through a black and white lens.  By learning about semiotics,  it becomes easier to view the world with broader perspective  and begin to take into account other ways of interpretting concepts, ones that we may not have considered before.     This is a very important skill for any successful designer, because we may not always have a personal connection to what we are designing, and therefore must view the objective with an open mind in order to not box ourselves into one idea.
For me personally, I’ve found difficulty in the past branching out of my own realm of thinking, so through understanding these concepts I’m finding it easier taking different approaches to designing.
